Simple Tips to Save More Money

  • Check out what you earn by the hour. If you're a regular employee, just divide your monthly gross income to he number of work days per month. Then divide that by eight hours, the usual work day. That's how much you earn per hour. Keep that in mind next time you want to splurge.
  • For those who have cars, check the cheapest gas prices in your area. Gas prices may vary that much by as much as 20 percent within a few blocks and can change frequently, so check them out.
  • Buy groceries once a month or every payday instead of every week. Minimize your visit to the groceries so you don't get tempted to buy more items than you need. And make sure you have a grocery list while you're at it.
  • Use the Internet for free text messages and calls. If you have Internet access, send text messages for free, even abroad, through chikka.com. If you have relatives abroad, use the many free messenger systems to chat or webcam such as Yahoo Messenger, Windows Live Messenger, Google Talk, etc. Or use a budget card if you want to use a phone. That will save you half compared to regular landline rates.

A girl was rape because of Facebook

I just read this news i think this Tuesday, and didnt mind the news that much. But while riding a jeep home, i heard a student saying they cant access Facebook because their school had block Facebook because of the said incident. Because the student who rape the girl was studying at their school. The news goes like this:

A STUDENT from a well-known university in Davao City was allegedly raped Saturday by a teenage man she met through a social networking site on Saturday.

The victim and the suspect became friends through Facebook and decided to meet and share some drinks inside a lodging house around 10 p.m. Saturday.

Krista (name withheld), 16, and Roland, 19, an Information Technology student, a resident of Malvar street, have known each other for a week before they met up.

Roland was arrested by the San Pedro police around midnight Sunday following the victim's complaint.

"Amo siyang gi-text ug among giingnan nga magkita sila sa iyang girlfriend (We sent him a text message pretending to be his girlfriend and wanting to meet him)," SPO2 Kelvin Joy Magno, duty investigator, said in an interview with Sun.Star Superbalita.

The suspect, however, denied the accusations.

He said that after becoming friends through Facebook, he invited her to a date at the mall last Saturday.

The girl arrived with several friends. She said they came from Times Beach.

Roland said the girl appeared to have imbibed some alcoholic drinks.

"Nag-order kami ng beer kasi gusto pa niyang uminom. Pinakilala niya ako sa kanyang mga kaibigan na boyfriend niya. At sinabi ko sa kanya na tayo na ba?" he said.

From their meeting place, they proceeded to Matina Town Square to continue their night out.

"Doon kami nagkasundo na mag-rent ng room kasama ang kaibigan niyang babae. Nung nakapasok na kami sa loob, pinalabas niya ang kanyang kaibigan at doon kami nagsimulang mag-sex," Roland told Sun.Star Superbalita while at his detention cell.

From the private room, Roland said he took the girl to her friend's house in Coca-Cola Village, Matina.

"Pagdating namin sa Coca-Cola Village, hindi niya ako pinapasok kasi magalit daw ang kanyang mga barkada na lalaki kaya umuwi na lang ako. Kinaumagahan, tini-text ko siya at tinanong kung nakauwi na ba siya. Sinabi niyang hindi siya umuwi. At nagulat na lang ako nung hinuli ako ng mga pulis," the suspect said.

The victim was brought to the Davao Medical Center (DMC) for medical examinations, while the suspect awaits the filing of charges in court.

Man, what the heck is wrong with students now a days. But i had to ask myself is Facebook the one to be blame? or the student themselves? Me? I used Facebook not for the sole purpose of socializing but to play Farmville hahahahaha. As for the student at the jeep, dude forget about the Facebook being block at your school, study first, because you enrolled at your school not to use Facebook, but to study and learn.

Texting Increases Crash Risk

Well this is a good news for those people who likes multi tasking while driving hehehehe, Reports said that text messaging behind the wheel increases the risk of a crash or a near crash by 23 times, and is far more dangerous than talking on a cellphone while driving. Well its obvious while texting your focus is on the cellphone, on what you are texting. One can talk on a cellphone while not taking their eyes off the road.

"Text messaging on a cellphone was associated with the highest risk off all cellphone related task." According to the study by the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute. They have also found that text messaging resulted in the longest duration of "eyes off road time"--4.6 seconds over a six second interval.

It recommended that"texting and dialing, should always be avoided" and called for text messaging to be banned in moving vehicles. (now that's kinda harsh but if it helps why not). According to the New York Times, texting while driving is banned in 14 of the 50 US states.

The NHTSA research, which tracked cellphone use by US drivers in 2002, found that 955 people were killed during 240,000 roadway accidents while speaking or texting on a cellphone.
