Simple Car Care Tips

Some people who own a car aren't mechanics, some even don't even have time to check their cars as long as the car looks good and have no problems. But if you are a responsible driver you should always check your car every other week or the better before driving. Whether you own a big car, a small car, or a secondhand car, you can do something to avoid costly repairs and keep your wheels running smoothly. Even washing your car regularly (and maintaining its cleanliness inside and out) can help keep your vehicle in top shape. Here are some simple tips to minimize trips to the car shop.

IF YOU HAVE AN SUV
  • Use only the proper tire size for your vehicle. Proper sized tires keep the mechanical parts under your car intact.
  • Always check your tires for lumps and misalignment. Big tires are always expected to be strong and durable, but they are just as fragile as any tire.
  • Have your hand brakes adjusted to maximum. SUV's are heavier and need more hold on the brakes than smaller vehicles.

IF YOU HAVE A SEDAN
  • Change oil every 5,000 to 10,000 kilometers to keep your car's engine in good shape. Sedan are so smooth that you can's tell if it's time to change oil already.
  • Always have your wheels aligned after your tire hits a deep hole in the road. Sedans have weaker stabilizers than AUVs and SUVs, so not giving immediate attention to it might damage the other parts under your vehicle.
  • Always keep your carpets clean to prevent dust from accumulating inside the air conditioner's evaporator. Aircons of small cars are located under the dashboard near the floor, so keeping your carpets clean helps prevent aircon damage.

IF YOU HAVE A SECONDHAND CAR
  • Do a one time overall checkup of your car to find out it's quirks. Knowing what went wrong with the car before ownership was passed on to you will help you pinpoint what needs to be attended to.
  • Take care of minor concerns as soon as possible. Those little tics and grumbles your car makes can indicate that there's something wrong, act fast and save on more expensive repairs later on.

Its been a busy week i haven't updated my blog that much because I'm too busy on my reports and inventory on my job. But last Sunday me and my wife visited Jetti Business Center near Damosa, because they were having a car show. There were lots of nice cars, then my wife started calling me because she saw Bumbleebee, well not the robot, but the model of the car used in the movie Transformer which is the 2009 Chevrolet Camaro. Wow this was some car, its big, sleek and a real babe magnet hehehehe. Heres the pic of my wife and Bumbleebee.

Car Problems

Having a car of my own is a dream come true. I have myself a Toyota Vios, a red one because its my favorite color. Having a car is a luxury for me since if ever I want to go to some place where its hard to catch a ride or a bus, I wont have a problem since I have my own transportation. Grocery is another big problem of mine having to handle plenty of bags can be a hassle, and having to call a taxi is another one. But not now i can just put all those basket and bag on my cars baggage, and have plenty of time to stroll the mall.

But having a car is not all fun and luxury, responsibility of having to take care of your car is also important. I, on the other hand is not an expert when it comes to cars, especially when it comes to auto repair and parts. Sometimes I'm amaze of people especially in the US which even have a CEL or a check engine light in their vehicle. I even get confuse when my car starts buzzing with warning such as door ajar or lamps remind hahahaha. There is also this headaches on trying to find which shop to go to, to at least have a decent price but of good quality for repair, maintenance and parts.

The good thing though of having a car like Toyota Vios or like the much expensive Toyota Camry which is my dream car but its way too expensive for me, is that Toyota parts are easy to find and is almost always available on the market and on car shop. What is left is for you to find the most affordable one which can also be a stress with the many car shop now a days. But if you are not sure about it, you can go to the Toyota Center near your city.

So guys if you ever had plans on buying a new car make sure your well knowledge on car parts and maintenance.

Jaywalking

I was standing at the corner waiting for the red light, i was putting my battery for my DigiCam minding my own business, when suddenly a guy just hit my right side (lucky i was holding my camera firmly) he was walking fast and in a hurry. And as i was saying early, i was waiting for the red light, but this guy just ignore the traffic sign, and worse the traffic aid just stand by and watch this guy cross the street.

I happen to took a picture of that guy.

Hes the one with the black t-shirt crossing while its still on the GO signal for the vehicles and you can also see the red hand which means no crossing.

And I just notice it's not just him who is ignoring the traffic sign, here's one lady who just walk across not even looking if theres a car and is just focusing on her cellphone. I just can't understand some of the people just won't follow the traffic rules, is just a simple rule. But many ignore this. Maybe because the penalty is not that stiff or the enforcers are not that strict? one thing for sure if you cross during a green light and a high speeding vehicle hits you. Its either death or a serious injury thats waiting for you.

How about in your place? Is jaywalking penalty that big? Do people still obey traffic rules especially jaywalking.
